ORGANIZATION AND COMMUNICATION

Alpha establishes the project team and an internal management plan at the beginning of the project. The team and management plan remains throughout the project and can evolve for the project if needed.  This results in an organized process with optimum, smooth communications.

SENIOR LEVEL INVOLVEMENT

Being a boutique design firm, we focus considerably on meaningful senior level time to projects. Experience and knowledge are involved throughout the project. This results in timely and appropriate decisions and what is best for the project every step of the way

BUILDING INFORMATION MODELING (BIM)

Since 2008, Alpha has used Revit as the primary technology tool for sharing with the design team and contractor. We push to start sharing of models early to validate and support the architectural ideas.  We typically extend beyond traditional structural modeling resulting in better coordinated documents. Each team member has the experience to be a part of the modeling discussion and process.

DEVELOPMENT

As the project moves forward, initial structural ideas and decisions are developed into construction documents. We continue to refine design decisions to become cost effective, creative, and coordinated solutions.

BUDGET AND SCHEDULE

Our reputation for completing projects within budget and on schedule has been earned by consistently following through with our commitments. Throughout the design process we are active team members in developing preliminary opinions of structural cost, reviewing provided cost analysis, and being part of the schedule decisions.  We are accustomed to being flexible and fluid within the process as needed.

QUALITY ASSURANCE AND CONTROL

Past experiences have shown us a thoughtful, timely quality control program benefits everyone involved. Our entire project team from the Principal to the Associate Engineer are involved in the quality control of the documents. Alpha establishes a review process plan for each project based on key design periods and milestones. This results in thoughtful, timely reviews and coordinated documents.

CONSTRUCTION ADMINISTRATION

Continuity through the last stage of the project is critical. Our same team responsible for construction documents will be your construction phase partner. We understand there are challenges during construction and having the same team members from the beginning results in knowledgeable, vested, timely and cost-effective problem solving.  Services include shop drawing review, pre- construction meetings, responding to questions from the field, site visit during structural construction, and review of the inspection and testing reports.
