The firm Alpha Consulting Engineers, Inc. was founded in San Antonio by Scott S. Tak in 1986 as Tak and Associates, Inc. Several key milestones include:

• In 1990, the company name was changed to Alpha Consulting Engineers, Inc.
• In 2018, the company was expanded adding a North Texas office located in Plano.
• Alpha has specialized in Structural Engineering since its inception.
